This project was my response to a studio challenge: "design for the elderly". Recalling the decline in mobile independence that my great grandmother experienced before she passed, I attempted to address the frustrations associated with aging.
The EAZ wheelchair utilizes a simple scissor mechanism that assists the user from a seated to a standing position. No one wants to be bound to a wheelchair. This one eases you out. The following include a video clip of a K'NEX prototype built to describe my idea, and the simple poster which I presented to the class.
